Are member classes needed ?

Break it down into two classes voting/non-voting or Active/non-active ?

Break those down into more classes by age ? Youth 1-17, young adult 18-21, adult, senior 55+ , senior citizens 65+, octo 80+ centurion 100+  ?

Down further into donation classes by amounts of cash, amounts of materials, and amounts of personal time.

Then there might be life members or members emeritus, corporate, government, other NPOs ....

Should seniority have a bearing ? (add stars to a member class annually ?)

Should family lineage have a place here ? ( 'Sons of the revolution' )

Education level, nationality, eye color, gender and preference, diet, ???

It's pretty easy to have a lot more membership classes than members...... :)

Under the observed circumstances that most voting members don't, why not let anyone who wants to vote have a say ?

Membership dues, or any other contributions, should be recognized (or anonomised as desired) publicly.

I agree with Gary in principle, but we did promise the general membership a voting student and senior class. I would like to see as many voting members as possible. All contributions should be recognized, and special contributions should be recognized specially... Paul 04:59, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

How about non-voting membership ? Free ? g6/18/09

You mean as a general class member? ie. for everyone? I'm not so sure I like that thought, but we sort of already do that with OpenLuna.org memberships. Hmmmm.... Maybe. non voting, and the only benni they get is a self printed card and and cert, and get on the announce list? In any case, I'd like to nail this down ASAP. Paul 16:45, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

--- Three classes would probably work with a fourth "partial" membership.

Student = Should graduate students be included in this or just high school and undergrad? General/Professional = People pay yearly dues and get to vote. Apollo Club Lifetime Members = person who pays x years of General membership at once, such as 11 years (in honor of Apollo 11). They get same rights at general members, but don't have to pay dues after a set time and also have a special mention on the website. Associate = people who are just on a general mailing list. They do not get a vote in anything, but maybe they get a reduced rate at future events/conferences held by OpenLuna

If there is some type of a news letter (should be electronic only, no print) it should only go to paying members, but send an abridged or highlight version to the Associates. Kevin
