Welcome! (back?) Or, What's been going on?

It’s been a while; let me try to get you caught up.

First off, we are alive and well, and still doing good work. We have partnered with a For-Profit company, Kepler Shipyards, in order to help with development and potentially allow us to commercialize some of our tech.

State of the Industry - Going Strong

As I await my flight home after the  NewSpace 2013 Conference, I remember that not everyone realizes the size and scope and, most importantly, the momentum of the new space industry.

OpenLuna Conversations

My friends Steve Smith and June Vasilis hosted a skype call where we were discussing the OpenLuna Foundation and the OpenLuna project.  Steve recorded the conversation and I added a set of video images to help the listener follow along.  You can find it among our Outreach page with other conversations at openluna.org/outreach and I have embedded it here.

A conversation on Explorer (Astonaut) selection.

There was recently an email exchange where someone asked about joining our Explorer corps. I thought it was worth publishing... of course, Her name was removed. There will be more to follow here.

Hi there,

I just wanted to ask you a quick question about your mission. Where will you get the astronauts from for your manned space missions? Will they be from NASA and what sort of experience will they need?

Trello for project management

We are trying to get started using Trello to do high level management of our numerous projects. The beautiful thing about this software is that we can create lanes where we can see projects moving from phase to phase. That will be a feature we will use at a later date. For starters you can subscribe to any project that you want to keep an eye on. This allows anybody on any team to stay up to date with the project flow and gives us a chance to jump in when our expertise and interest is best used.

How do you help?, or "How the heck does this thing work?!"

Well, It seems like it's time for my annual+ blog post, And as is becoming traditional, I will promise to write more often. I have a couple ideas for blog posts I need to write, but I did last time too. There is just plain too much to do, and not enough people to do it!
Which, plain leads to the topic of this blog post.

October News

Recent news:
We have a new home for the website at CiviHosting so we will be better able to operate, including updates and auto renewal notices.
Paul Graham presented us at several conferences, sorry I can't keep up to all of them, including ISDC, newspace and DragonCon this year and is already on the schedule for ISDC (International Space Development Conference) next year in May.

I just added Google Checkout to the payment engines on the membership page and the donate page.

Google Checkout donations.  Slightly lower fees than PayPal.

Turning the corner.

With my head cold just beginning to subside and single handed typing after wrenching my already sore finger, I am compelled to pick up my computer to make this blog entry.  I have been working to bring space exploration within reach of the average person since 1988 as one of the founders of The International Space Exploration and Colonization Company, ISECCo.  Why?  Because I was an average person (maybe not so average but you know what I mean) and I wanted an active part in it.
