A sample floor plan, top view. Note that this was drawn when the thinking was six people, and it will become a little more space efficient. The window was drawn in before Kelley knew the unit was to be buried, but could later be replaced with a leaded periscope. Windows are nice for sanity.
The reason for the central airlock is as part of several emergency procedures, and for dust mitigation. The desks are also work benches, and places to use the mobile glove boxes. The table will fold into a bunk or a sickbed. (Like the one commonly found in "RVs" or "caravans") Done properly, this gives us a huge amount of storage.
